There are numerous ways to enjoy Halloween in the Treasure Valley, but it can be difficult to find a family-friendly event. Thankfully, Zoo Boise's Spooktacular is a merry, not-so-scary event that will be fun for the whole family.

From Friday, October 13th, to Sunday, October 15th, and Friday, October 20th, to Sunday, October 22nd, Spooktacular will take over Zoo Boise with the ghosts and ghouls hanging out among the animals.

There will be festive Halloween Halloween displays, activities, and animal encounters. All of these activities will be appropriate for younger children. Attendees will also be able to boogie down during a black light Halloween dance party.

You'll have a chance for mascot meet-and-greets, witness professional magicians, tackle an obstacle course, explore the Bone Yard, explore the mini hay bale maze, and hang out in the Bat House at night. These are just a few of the examples of what fun you'll find at Spooktacular!

Spooktacular is from 6pm to 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 5:30pm to 8pm on Sundays. The walking tour of the event will last from one to two hours depending on how long you stay at each activity station. Entrance to Spooktacular is the regular fall admission prices. Friends of Zoo Boise members receive a $1 discount off of admission to Spooktacular.

Because this is a night event, not all of the animals will be out and active.
