Everyone has a  flick that they like to watch during the holiday season, and thanks to Boise Classic Movies, you can watch your must-see Christmas movies on the big screen at the Egyptian Theatre!

Boise Classic Movies Christmas

In the mood for a musical? “White Christmas” is on tonight, and you’ll want to come prepared with your vocal chords warmed up. This charming film by Irving Berlin stars Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye as a song-and-dance team that bring their routine to their former commanding general’s Vermont farm. Don’t worry, there’s a love story too!

If action is more your speed, then you’ll want to watch “Die Hard” on Thursday, December 1. A work Christmas party takes a turn for the worse when evil villain, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman!), and his bank robbers take over. John McClane (Bruce Willis!) manages to save the day, while uttering a few famous lines you’ll find yourself repeating over Christmas turkey.

“A Christmas Story” tells the tale of Ralphie, a 9-year-old boy who just wants an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model BB rifle with a compass in the stock for Christmas. That’s all he wants! Several adults warn him of the dangers of the toy, but Ralphie knows his heart. He endures bullies and overcautious adults to survive Christmas day, but what will be under the tree for him? You can see “A Christmas Story” at the Egyptian on Tuesday, December 6!

Charles Dickens’ famous Christmas tale gets a fun update with the help of Jim Henson’s Muppets. “The Muppet Christmas Carol” is a family-friendly film that you can bring the kiddos (or just those young at heart!) to on Thursday, December 8.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without “It’s a Wonderful Life.” This film is number 20 spot on AFI’s top 100 and is the Christmas movie that is the most requested to Boise Classic Movies. George Bailey’s life doesn’t turn out exactly as he hoped it would. And when one Christmas results in disaster, he contemplates ending it all. “It’s A Wonderful Life” will be playing on Tuesday, December 13, and Wednesday, December 14.

You have one day but two times that you can watch “Christmas Vacation.” Boise Classic Movies will be showing this film on Saturday, December 17, at 6pm, and with a 9:15pm showing for those 21 and over. Laugh along with fellow National Lampoon fans as Clark Griswold endures a rather difficult holiday!
