TEDxBoise 2017 is the place to be if you’re in need of a little inspiration.

The famous TED talks program has expanded to locally organized events called TEDx. On Saturday, April 8, Boiseans can enjoy the benefits of a TED talk without leaving our favorite city.

The event is from 1pm to 7pm and consists of a combination of TEDTalks video and live speakers. This is the third year of TEDxBoise, with this being its first year at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place (JUMP).

The speakers lineup:

  • Charles Honts, Professor of Psychological Science at Boise State University

  • Dex Torricke-Barton, Head of Communications at SpaceX

  • Haven Baker, VP of Plant Sciences at Simplot

  • Jimmy Hallyburton, Founder of Boise Bicycle Project

  • Jodi Peterson, Development and Co-Director of Interfaith Sanctuary

  • Kayla-Leah Rich, Director of Days for Girls in Meridian, ID

  • Levi Bettwieser, Founder of The Rescued Film Project

  • Phil McGrane, Chief Deputy Clerk of Ada County

  • SeAnne Safaii-Watie, Associate Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at University of Idaho

  • Sue Linja, Co-founder, Officer and President of S&S Nutrition Network

  • Stacy Ennis, Writer and Creative Strategist

  • Suman Nag, Founder and Executive Director of ROSA DNA

The talks will range from menstruation to space, and politics to filmmaking. You’ll find yourself learning, becoming inspired, and having new ideas! Tickets are $75 and  can be purchased here.
