Sometimes you need a fast food option that offers more than burgers and fries.

On the Fly in downtown Boise provides delicious fare on the go. This locally owned rotisserie deli crafts all of the meats it serves in house-- promising you fresh ingredients with every bite. Order a sandwich to be made as you wait, or grab one of the pre-built meal options from the cooler.

Enjoy sandwiches that are a step above the average deli, such as a salmon salad sandwich or the roasted beef sandwich with aioli and manchego cheese. Various salads are also available,  from the unique Miso Salad (napa cabbage, shitake mushrooms, cashew, wontons, pickled daikon, ginger, miso vinaigrette), to the traditional Caesar salad.

As the temperature drops, a hot soup is the perfect meal option. Order a cup or bowl of one of the two daily soups for immediate consumption, or buy a larger portion for an easy dinner.

In fact, swing by On the Fly after 4pm every day to grab one of the pre-made food choices at half the price. It's a great option when you don't feel like making dinner.

You're probably going to want to grab dessert while you're at it. The chocolate chile mousse fulfills your sweet tooth desires and provides a kick to your taste buds with the hint of heat. Stick to the basics with a large chocolate chip cookie or lemon bar. If you want to revert to your childhood, then pick up a rice whiskey treat. The traditional treat gets an adult twist thanks to the addition of whiskey, chocolate chips, and cinnamon. Is your mouth watering yet?

On the Fly is more than a fast food option, it's a socially and environmentally aware business. All the to-go containers and silverware are compostable, while leftover food is donated to charity at the end of the business day.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Zion Bank Building at Main Street and 8th Street. While the food is fast, you don't have to rush to eat it. Take a minute to enjoy the mid-century modern decor and the view of downtown Boise while enjoying your lunch. If you're even too busy to stop by On the Fly's location, then you can order online and have it delivered to your door. Never miss a meal again!
