Luciano's Italian Restaurant in Boise

Downtown Boise is known for its terrific restaurants (and the Thinking Boise team can often be seen enjoying them!), but it doesn’t claim all the best spots. In a city known for fine dining, word has spread quickly about Luciano’s Italian Restaurant, just one of the special eateries that makes its home on the Boise Bench.

It’s not big, and it’s not flashy. In fact, from the outside you might wonder about the location – right next to the railroad tracks at 11 N. Orchard. Look past all that, and you’ll be delighted with the great service, the extensive wine list, the bread, and the choices. Even those that need to avoid gluten will be satisfied with the offerings at this Italian restaurant. The lunch specials are generous and inexpensive. Families are welcome.

It’s a comfortable atmosphere, with some patrons in cashmere and some in Carhartt. On one busy night, you could see that tables were actually quite close, but it felt cozy rather than claustrophobic. Everyone was in a great mood, too, because the server made you forget that he had other tables to wait on. Even the kids were treated like honored guests. It felt like a family meal in which no one was allowed to worry about the dishes.

Reservations are necessary for parties of eight or more and are available Monday through Thursday. If you are part of a large party hoping for a weekend slot, Luciano’s asks that you call 30 minutes before your desired time to be put on the waiting list. This might sound inconvenient, but it's nice to get there on a Sunday evening and be seated immediately.

There is a reason that Trip Advisor rated Luciano’s Italian Restaurant number 14 of the 622 restaurants in Boise: the service is excellent and the food is fantastic.
