Boise Library Comic Con Brings Together Devoted Fans
We promise-- it's not a trap! It's the Boise Library Comic Con 2015. Dust off your favorite cosplay (aka fictional character costume) and join other fans on Saturday, August 29 at the Main Library on River Street and Capitol Boulevard.
There are numerous comic cons held throughout the US for fans of comic book and other genres, such as sci-fi. But it's not often that a comic con is held in our very own backyard. What could be better than meeting fellow Boiseans who love the same comic books/games/TV show/movie as you? Which is why the Boise Library comic con is a must-attend.
This one day only event has something for every fan. Board game lovers will be able to try out different table top games from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The crafty minded (and magic fans) can join in the Wandmaking Workshop which will include using a 3D printer. For those who want to learn more about the comic genre, there's multiple panels and programs to enjoy, including "Comics as Literature," a steampunk magician, and "The Making of Roller Girl, with Victoria Jamieson."
"Dr. Who" fans will have the chance to meet other Whovians, discuss the show, show off their costumes, and take a photo in front of the Tardis. "Star Wars" and "Attack on Titan" fans also have their own meet-ups. Love zombies? Then join in the Zombie Walk at 2 p.m. to turn the Main Library into a zombie-infested zone.
Don't forget your costume! You can enter the costume contest, or just enjoy being dressed as your favorite character (whether that's Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker, good guys and bad guys both are invited!).
And make sure you stop by 762 River Street (across the street from the library) to shop books and for a chance to meet 35 comic creators.
Check out the Boise Library Comic Con page for all the details. May the Force be with you!
