Whether you’re an avid cyclist or you just love promoting a better Boise, you’re going to be interested in the Leadville Bikeway.

The Leadville Bikeway is an initiative by the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) to create an alternative bike route for Broadway Avenue on nearby Leadville Avenue.

Rather than having commuters, school kids, and recreational cyclists traverse the busy Broadway Avenue, this bike route will provide an easily accessible, safer option that runs directly parallel to the main route.

The Leadville Bikeway will be an energy efficient route between Southeast Boise and Broadway Avenue, Boise State University, the Greenbelt and downtown. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

The opportunity to transform Leadville Avenue into a bikeway was first mentioned in the 2009 ACHD Roadways to Bikeway Plan, and also in the 2013 Southeast Boise Neighborhood Walking and Biking Plan.

So how can you help? The ACHD wants to hear from the community to ensure that the bikeway that is created addresses the most needs.

From now until June 23rd, you can let your voice be heard by ACHD and local planning firm, Agnew::Beck by completing a survey. Click here to view more information, including a link to the survey.
